Canadian Brand Ambassador - Glenfiddich
Over the past 13 years Elizabeth Havers has immersed herself in the world of whisky. Today, she champions trade and consumer education and advocacy for all William Grant & Sons Whisky products throughout Canada. Until recently, Elizabeth was the sole female single malt whisky ambassador in Canada, and one of very few in the world. Much like the products she represents, Elizabeth is viewed as a trailblazer within her industry and is well respected among her peers. She leverages her position to share the rich history and innovation of the full William Grant & Sons whisky portfolio.
During her tenure as Brand Ambassador for Glenfddich, Elizabeth has educated thousands of Canadians reaching her audience through media interest, social media, live masterclasses, trade shows and special events. And, as an advocate for the female contingency of whisky afcionados, for the past three years Elizabeth has curated Toronto’s first all women whisky club, aptly titled Women & Whisky. Most recently, Elizabeth Havers was honoured with the Icon of Whisky Rest of World 2016 Scotch Whisky Brand Ambassador of the Year Award in Whisky Magazine.
“You can tell a lot about a person by their drink of choice,” says Elizabeth. “Whisky is associated with confidence, strength of character, and maturity (most of the time). No matter how you spin it, whisky demands appreciation.”
Elizabeth moved to Edinburgh, Scotland in 2003 where she fell in love with the spectacular country, it’s boisterous and vibrant community, and most paramount to her current role – Scotch whisky. Though she has since settled back in to her home in Toronto, Ontario in Canada, Elizabeth will forever be drawn to her second home, returning whenever possible. During one of her many trips, Elizabeth had the opportunity to spend time soaking up as much knowledge as she could at the William Grant & Sons distilleries in Duftown.
Prior to joining the William Grant & Sons team, Elizabeth held sales, marketing and brand specialist positions within the spirits industry. She is a graduate of The University of Guelph and completed her Wine and Spirits Education through The International Sommelier Guild.
Canadian Brand Ambassador - The Balvenie
Jamie’s love of whisky began many years ago when she made an impulsive visit to a distillery in Kentucky in the middle of a road trip. She’s been enchanted ever since.
In 2014 she began offering casual, fun and approachable whisky tastings in her home. The tastings were so popular, she was forced to expand beyond her Toronto living room – and she began partnering with some of the city’s most popular bars and restaurants to host monthly tastings. Her whisky club, Bourbon Thing, continued to grow rapidly and provide a space for whisky afcionados and neophytes alike to enjoy a dram, a laugh and some whisky education together.
Jamie is also co-host of a popular weekly Whisky Podcast, The Whisky Topic with Whisky Author, Mark Bylok.
Jamie joined The Balvenie family as Canadian Brand Ambassador in January of 2017.
