JF Pilon Jean-François « JF » Pilon est tombé dans la proverbiale marmite des saveurs quand il était petit. De la bière de microbrasserie au cidre, il découvre ensuite sa véritable passion : le whisky! Il décide alors de la partager le plus possible. Il est d’ailleurs le président fondateur de Whisky Montréal, et depuis plus de huit ans, il écrit sur le whisky, les spiritueux et le cidre pour Bières et Plaisirs. En plus de donner des ateliers et des conférences sur le whisky, les spiritueux, le cidre et la bière, il a été le spécialiste en spiritueux pour plusieurs événements, dont La Cuvée, l’Oktoberfest des Québécois et le Bières et Saveurs de Chambly. Jean-François a enseigné à l’École de gestion hôtelière et de restauration de la Cité collégiale d’Ottawa. Il donne aussi les cours au programme de formation sur la distillation de l’Institut brassicole du Québec. Ah, oui : c’est le père de trois charmantes jeunes femmes et un féru de nouveaux médias. |

JF Pilon Jean-François "JF" Pilon has loved new flavours and experiences since he was a child. A longtime aficionado of craft beer and cider, he came to discover his true passion: whisky! Since then he has been dedicated to sharing his enthusiasm with others. He is the founding president of Whisky Montreal, and for the past eight years has been writing extensively about whisky, spirits and cider for Bières et Plaisirs. In addition to giving workshops and conferences on whisky, spirits, cider and beer, he has been the spirits specialist at many events including La Cuvée, Oktoberfest des Québécois and Bières et Saveurs de Chambly. Jean-François has taught at the École de gestion hôtelière et de restauration at the Cité collégiale in Ottawa. He also teaches in the distillation training program at the Institut brassicole du Québec. He is the father of three lovely young girls and a new media enthusiast. |

Bryan Simpson Ambassadeur national des marques Ardbeg et Glenmorangie Bryan Simpson fait partie de la communauté du whisky écossais depuis plus de dix ans, tant dans son Écosse natale que dans sa nouvelle patrie, le Canada. Né à Glasgow, mais vivant maintenant à Toronto, il a enflammé la passion de milliers de Canadiens pour le single malt avant d'être nommé ambassadeur canadien de la marque Ardbeg et Glenmorangie. De retour en Écosse, Bryan a combiné son amour pour les Highlands avec son zèle pour la dégustation de whisky et a formé un club de whisky qui a fait l'expérience du Scotch au cœur des régions sauvages de l'Écosse. Son palais bien affûté s'est développé en jumelant les buveurs de whisky avec la boisson idéale, et il a acquis la réputation d'animer des présentations captivantes, tant pour les néophytes que pour les amateurs de malt expérimentés. L'obsession de Bryan pour Ardbeg et Glenmorangie ne se limite pas à ce qu'il y a dans le verre, mais à l'histoire de ces deux marques et à la manière dont elles sont liées au whisky écossais dans son ensemble. Son intérêt pour les aspects scientifiques de la fabrication du whisky est évident, mais le monde social qui existe autour de sa boisson préférée et la façon dont elle rassemble les gens sont tout aussi importants pour lui. Bryan Simpson National Brand Ambassador for Ardbeg and Glenmorangie Bryan Simpson has been a part of the Scotch whisky community for over a decade, both in his native Scotland and his new home of Canada. Born in Glasgow, but now living in Toronto, he has ignited thousands of Canadians’ passion for single malt before being appointed Canadian Brand Ambassador for Ardbeg and Glenmorangie. Back in Scotland, Bryan combined his love for the Highlands with his whisky-tasting zeal and formed a whisky club that experienced Scotch in the heart of Scotland’s wilds. His well-honed palate was developed pairing whisky drinkers with their perfect dram where he gained a reputation of hosting engaging presentations to both those new to Scotch and experienced malt enthusiasts. Bryan’s obsession with Ardbeg and Glenmorangie is not just what’s in the glass, but the history of both brands and how it ties to Scotch whisky as a whole. His interest in the scientific aspects of Scotch-making is clear, but just as important to him is the social world that exists around his favourite drink and how it brings people together.
